STRUNG
composition for flutes, electronics and video
by Arnoud Noordegraaf

STRUNG is a concept in music and images, written for Jorge Isaac, who plays various recorders and handles live electronics at the same time.
Jorge is a cutting edge performer, using all the modern media and incorporating theatrical ideas in his performances. His highly skilled approach to live electronics was used as an outline for the concept of STRUNG.

In STRUNG, the virtuoso block flute player is pushing the limits of his performance, as well as his skills with the electronic equipment that surrounds him and voices his talents.
As the electronics seem to grow out of control and start run by themselves, an unexpected world opens up. A shady world with no visible boundaries, inhabited by an intreguing and surrealistic girl, perpetually and stoically concentrated on the ritual slaughter of block flutes.
The virtuoso' manages to break into this world and compete for control and for the life of his instruments.
